31 Weeks! Only 9 weeks to go!

At 31 weeks, our little girl is the size of a pineapple!  Holy moly!  She is roughly 16 inches long now, weighing in around 3 whoppin pounds.  All 5 senses are now FULLY developed, meaning she can see, taste, hear, smell, and feel!  Pregnancy brain has definitely kicked in, and I think it's because I'm realizing how much there is left to do and how little time we have to do it!  I am sure every first time mom feels this way.

We started our childbirth classes at the hospital this week!  It's a 6 week course covering labor and delivery, newborn care, and breast feeding.  I really like our instructor and can't wait to cover all the material she has in store for us.  Plus, at the end of every class, she makes time for your labor partner to give you a massage :) I am looking forward to these next couple weeks because we are going to get to tour the new birthing wing of the hospital.  It just opened in January 2013, and our instructor said the rooms ridiculously nice!

31 Week 6 days Bump (still counts):

Symptoms: Trouble falling asleep, pregnancy brain, bigger belly, and my ears get sore when I wear earrings... weird!

Weight Gain: 19 lbs

Cravings:  Always fruit... especially pineapple, strawberries, and nectarines. Also pretzel bites!

Stretch Marks:  No, but my skin is really tight!

Belly Button:  Holding on for dear life.  I think next week it will be even with my belly, and then 2 weeks from now it will be an outie

Labor Signs:  None

Exciting Happenings:  Got the curtains hung, our first prenatal class, and getting to go see a movie with hubby on Tuesday afternoon.  Upcoming 32 week appointment on Wednesday.

30 Weeks

Is my pregnancy 3/4 of the way over already?  Time has flown by these past few months.  I can't believe my first baby shower was this weekend!  I feel like I just had my bridal shower.  It was so wonderful.  I think I will make a separate post just for the shower because my talented mother-in-law took some pictures that I can't wait to see and share with you!

At 30 weeks, our itty bitty is filling out more and more.  She is now strong enough to grasp a finger!  Oh, how I am looking forward to that moment.  She is now roughly the length of a cucumber.  Between 15 and 16 inches long now, she is weighing around 3 pounds.  No wonder I am feeling more and more kicks every day.  She is running out of room in there!  Sometimes, it feels like she is having a dance party in my belly.  There are definitely some things I am going to miss about being pregnant, and that is one of them.  It's so wonderful being able to feel her little kicks and jabs and know she is ours.  Before we know it, our precious little girl will be here to change our lives forever.

30 week bump pic:

Symptoms:  Besides the bigger belly, my ribs are now starting to hurt depending on where she is laying.

Weight Gain: None this week, still up about 18 lbs.

Cravings:  Any kind of fruit and Mexican food

Stretch Marks:  None yet, but I am beginning to feel like I am running out of extra skin here!

Belly Button:  It gets closer to flat every day, but it's still holding on for dear life

Labor Signs:  None, thankfully.  Cook baby cook!

Exciting Happenings:  My mom finished my crib skirt this week, and it looks so adorable in the nursery.  Also, we tried to hang the curtain rod this week, but couldn't find any studs in the wall.  So now we have to get some wall anchors before we can finish hanging the curtains.  Lastly, my first baby shower was today!

29 Weeks!

Week 29 recap:

1.  Organized filing cabinet

2.  Bought baby's going home outfit

3.  Got our glider chair for our nursery

4.  My mom is finishing up the crib skirt, and it looks fantastic!

5.  Nesting (aka cleaned entire house)

6.  Slept better than usual

7.  Felt her first hiccups this week :)

Craigslist find! Perfect condition! (yellow glider chair)

This is most likely her coming home outfit.  Just need to find a bow and maybe some little white leggings in case the hospital is chilly

Looking forward to these next few weeks!  Painting the curtain rod this weekend, so I will finally get her curtains hung.  Also this weekend we are hopefully going to look for cars, and celebrate Mother's Day!  Next weekend is my first baby shower, and I couldn't be more excited.  Probably going to purchase our crib mattress soon as well, so I can start putting the crib bedding on.  I can't wait to see it all start coming together!

At 29 weeks, our baby is the size of a squash!  She is about 15 inches long now, and weighs about 3 lbs!  It seems like she puts on about a half of a pound each week!  It's almost time to start packing the hospital bag!

Here is my 29 week bump!

Me and little one working on our fitness!

Symptoms:  I look like I swallowed a basketball

Weight Gain:  almost 18 lbs

Cravings:  Pasta and nectarines

Stretch Marks:  none yet, but my skin feels really tight!

Belly Button:  I hardly recognize it anymore.  Still an innie though

Labor Signs:  None

Exciting Happenings:  My upcoming baby shower and of course my due date approaching!

Baby Moon

This past week, Andy and I went on a "baby moon" with my family to the Cayman Islands.  I guess it wasn't a true baby moon since we were with everyone, but this will be the last time we get to go on vacation before our family pod grows to three.

In case you didn't know, Grand Cayman is our favorite vacation spot ever!  The turquoise water, the amazing white sand beach, and the friendly locals make it such a wonderful place to go.  I think this was our 10th year going back.  Our week was filled with amazing food, relaxing on the beach, catching up on some reading,  snorkeling, swimming, and of course exercising.

I can't imagine a better place to transition into my final trimester.  It was nice to just shut my brain off and not think about all of the little things that I need to complete still before baby arrives. Here are some captured memories of our last vacation before our family expands.

Hello 3rd Trimester - 28 weeks!

Well, it's finally here!  The final trimester before we get to meet our little nugget.  I can't believe how fast time has flown by.  Of course, I might not be saying this if I had underwent a horrible symptomatic pregnancy.  I feel very lucky that I only had mild morning sickness, and it only lasted until about 16 weeks.  I imagine that the next couple of months I will become more and more uncomfortable, but for now I am feeling great!  Besides feeling like I swallowed a soccer ball, I sometimes even forget I am pregnant.  I have been able to continue with most of my regular workouts, excluding a few exercises such as supermans  :)  Being able to run (although slow as a turtle) and lift weights has been a great stress reliever and has helped me keep my sanity during these crazy past few months.  I can only imagine how my workouts will change post-pregnancy and have a little one to keep an eye on 24/7.

I just got back from my 28 week appointment, and my Dr says everything looks great! I am measuring right on track, so that means baby is continuing to grow, grow, grow!  Now, my appointments are going to be scheduled every 2 weeks.  We're getting so close to meeting our little nugget!

At 28 weeks, our little girl is the size of an eggplant!  She is around 14 inches long, and weighs around 2 pounds.  Her lungs are continuing to develop, and she is putting on some baby fat!  I cannot wait to see her sweet little face.  I hope she has big ole cheeks, because chubby babies are the cutest!

Here is my 28 week bump! (28 weeks 6 days still counts)

Symptoms:  Just the ever growing baby bump!

Weight Gain:  17 lbs!

Cravings:  green apples and Mexican food. . . basically always hungry

Stretch Marks:  None yet.  My skin held out during our baby moon!

Belly Button:  Still an innie, but definitely less of one.

Labor Signs:  I might have had a BH while swimming the other day, but it was hard to tell if that was just her reacting to the cool water or a BH.  Swimming in general for the first time this pregnancy felt just odd.

Exciting Happenings:  Our baby moon last week and working on the crib skirt for the nursery!
